Teacher marking

Wavumbuzi functions on a Peer Review system, which means that learners mark one another's submissions. Each submission is marked by three learners and the average taken for the overall score and they earn points for doing reviews. As a teacher, you also have the opportunity to earn points and contribute to the community by completing Submission Reviews.

To access Teacher Marking, log into the Teacher Portal and navigate to the “Submission Reviews” tab,

 Click on “Submission Review”.

Submission Reviews

You should now be presented with a learner’s submission. Read the questions along with the answers thoroughly, and review them by clicking and selecting a score you feel they deserve from the review tool on the right of your screen. Complete the review by clicking on “Finalise Score”.

Should you feel a submission inappropriate or plagiarized, you can report it using the appropriate buttons below “Finalise”

Teachers should consider the below when marking submissions:

  • It is important to read the submission carefully and refer to the Assessment Rubric for direction on what a perfect answer looks like.
  • Honesty and fairness are key. If there is any sign of malicious marking, the respective teacher and their learners may be disqualified from the competition.
  • Teachers can flag a submission as "inappropriate" or "plagiarised" within the moderation page.
  • Learners who feel they have been unfairly graded can request remarking.
