Why is the platform slow? (Login, submitting challenges & more)
If you are experiencing slowness when logging in or submitting your challenge on the Wavumbuzi platform, you are not alone. Here are the most common reasons and what you can do to fix it.
Cause 1: High traffic on the platform
When many learners are logged in and using the platform at the same time — especially around challenge submission deadlines — the system may slow down due to the high number of requests being processed at once.
- Submit your challenge early — avoid waiting until the last day or hour before a deadline.
- Try logging in during off-peak hours — early mornings or late evenings tend to have less traffic.
- Refresh and try again — if a page is unresponsive, wait a minute and refresh your browser.
Cause 2: Slow internet connection
A weak or unstable internet connection on your device can make the platform appear slow, cause pages to not load fully, or cause your challenge submission to fail or time out.
- Check your internet connection — make sure you have a stable connection before logging in or submitting.
- Switch to a stronger network — if possible, connect to Wi-Fi instead of using mobile data.
- Move closer to your Wi-Fi router — a stronger signal means faster page loading.
- Restart your router or mobile data — turning it off and on again can resolve temporary connection issues.
- Close other apps or browser tabs — too many apps running in the background can slow down your connection.
Cause 3: Browser or device issues
Sometimes the slowness may be coming from your browser or device rather than the platform itself.
- Clear your browser cache and cookies — stored data can slow down how pages load.
- Use a recommended browser — Chrome, Edge, Firefox, or Safari for Apple users.
- Update your browser — make sure you are using the latest version.
- Restart your device — a simple restart can free up memory and speed things up.
