The role of the Teacher

The role of the Teacher Champion is to encourage learners to participate, help them if they need assistance, and review submissions to ensure a high standard is maintained across the challenge. Teachers are Wavumbuzi’s primary contacts and the representatives for the school and its learners. Previous Wavumbuzi challenges have shown that teachers play a great role in the success of their learners.

Teachers are asked to:

• Register their school
• Gain access to your Teacher Portal
• Complete the online Teacher Training
• Invite other teachers from your school and community to join you on this exciting journey
• Assign learners to your school
• Encourage and support your learners to complete each week’s Wavumbuzi challenges
• Support those who struggle and, where need be, seek further guidance from your designated Wavumbuzi Ambassador. 
• Celebrate learners who engage well in the challenge
